Collective administration of Neighbouring Rights
NORMA, being a rights society, represents all performing artists, such as actors, dubbing artists, musicians, word artists and dancers.
NORMA collects and distributes several collective remunerations, such as the remuneration for TV-broadcasting and private copying. This in order to secure that right holders receive a fair financial compensation for the use of their works in the Netherlands and abroad. Some remunerations are collected directly from the parties that exploit the work; other remunerations are collected by others on behalf of NORMA.
When to join NORMA
Below some examples:
If you are an actor and you play a role in a movie or serie and it has been broadcast on TV, you may be entitled to remuneration.
If you have recorded a film or series as a dubbing actor or worked as a voice-over on a programme and it has been broadcast on TV, you may be entitled to remuneration.
If you are a musician and performed live on television, you may be entitled to a remuneration.
Most important is that it really concerns a performance of a work.
